How many times have you described a symptom to a doctor and been told it's normal?
How many times have you convinced yourself that the exhaustion, the bloating, the brain fog, the painful periods or the constant low mood are just part of life?
How many times have you quietly accepted that this is just how you feel?
I want to challenge that today.
Because in all my years of working with clients as a holistic health and gut health coach — the most common thing I hear at the beginning of our work together is some version of the same sentence.
"I just thought it was normal."
It isn't.
And I want to share a few stories that prove it.
"I Thought My Headaches and Fatigue Were Just My Norm"
She came to me having lived with constant headaches, agonising periods, persistent skin issues and relentless exhaustion for years.
She had seen doctors. Had tests. Been told everything looked fine.
So she did what most people do — she accepted it. Carried on. Assumed this was just how her body worked.
What nobody had done was look at the full picture. Her gut health, her nutrient levels, her stress, her lifestyle, her hormones — all of it together, as a connected system.
When we started working together that's exactly where we began.
Within a couple of months her headaches became less frequent. Her periods stopped being agonising. Her skin started clearing. And perhaps most significantly — her energy came back in a way she hadn't felt in years.
Her symptoms weren't her normal. They were her body asking for help in the only way it knew how.
